The picture shows a baby in Mr. Faber's lap.  Is it the  first, second or third child.  I would think some of those in IOWA would know but so far no concrete answers.

I am sure that Lucy Faber's kin would surely know but I am not hearing that.  Isn't genealogy and family fun?

All boys wore gowns then and didn't wear pants un

Who the Feck do you think you are?

"Who the Feck do you think you are?" is the title of a blog I have been thinking of running on researching our family history for a few months now, and today is the day I get it started!

The Foundation Legend

Three brothers came from Kildare - varis names given, and built three houses beside each other... two died childless, and the third inherited the two plots, giving a decent plot of land before the great famine, and setting the family up to be just that bit more prosperous than their neighbour

13559131054?profile=original   Here's wishing a Happy Father's Day to all the dad's out there, and especially to all the outstanding fathers in our family. This will be the first Father's Day without my dad Ray, pictured in the middle  holding a little kid with a lot of hair. Yes, that was me, and the year was probably 1953, the place was likely Caseyville, Illinois, where my maternal grandfather John J. Bartos was living at the time. The big guy on the far right (who looks like a cop) is Dad's father Anthony Peterson, who

Picture may be of my great-grandmother

The woman in the middle of this picture may be Ester Stella Liska Peto....my great-grandma.  On the back, very faintly, it says Mrs. Peto.  I think she is surrounded by coal miners and I wonder if one of them near her might be her son John Peto who was killed in a mining accident in 1927. ???13559134283?profile=original

My great grandfather, Lazarus Ciebelman, left the Ukraine around 1888 and moved to England, to London's East Side, where many Jewish refugees from European/Russian pogroms were settling then. The only problem is I am stuck trying to find anyone before him because the name Ciebelman/Ciebleman, which I also found as Sibbleman in one of his ship crossings to N. America, is unique, period. No one outside of our family has this name and the name does not exist before Lazarus, making be suspect it is
