On the back of this photo it says "The church where Lajos and others are."   We aren't sure who Lajos or the others are and we don't know where this is located either.

Both of my parents lived somewhat east of Pittsburgh. My mother's g-grandfather was John Henry Uhlenberg, who was born in 1822 in Hanover, and sailed from Bremen, arriving in Baltimore on 25 May 1840. He indicated his place of origin was Venne, Germany, but he was the only person of that name on that voyage, so I'm not sure that I would find any information about him in Udo Thoerner's Venne book.  Mr. Euhlenberg had at least one daughter, Mary Eva, who was born in Wexford PA in 1847.  One of Mar

Found this book at Barnes & Nobles.  It is called 4,000 Years of Uppity Women.

 It is by Vicki Leon.

Talk about a genealogical adventure in many early lines of the past, it will curl your hair, tickle your funny bone and leave you amazed.

If one has early Turkish, Mesopotamian, Mid East back ground you might want to sneak a peak at it.

Having a glimmer of one of these lines I thought it might be interesting.  That was an understatement.

In ways it reminds me of when the Numismatic person c

Part of the fun of studying genealogy and family history is the discovery of new information and uncovering old secrets, and trying to ascertain why ancestors did what they did when they did it. And

The Ontario Genealogical Society will host the Society's annual conference on 29-31 May 2015 at Georgian College Campus, Barrie, ON, Canada.  The conference theme -- “Tracks through Time” – originates from the 130th Anniversary of the completion of the Canadian Pacific Railway across Canada.  Many family historians have their roots in the immigrant laborers who built this railway across our vast country.  Other ancestors were tempted by the transportation routes and migration opportunities allow
