Q6: When you were young, do you remember what it was that you wanted to grow up to be?
Yes, I wanted to be a Reporter and a Writer, if not I wanted to be a Teacher.
My first day at San Jose Mercury News they went on strike. I found another job.
I actually have one book published by Sweetwater Union High School District. It was a book about words and terms the District used that we parents and lay people needed to know what they were or meant.
I may someday get the other books that are started
I am looking for info on my mom's side of the family.
Mom was born Ruth Ottilie Tepper on June 1, 1921. Her parents: Konrad Ihle, born September 5, 1897 in Germany, and Auguste Tepper, born July 6, 1898 in Germany, never married each other.
Auguste's parents: Wilhelm Tepper, born in Denmark, married Auguste Teelen, born in Germany. I don't know anything further for this branch. I do know, however, that Wilhelm apparently owned a foundry in Denmark, prior to his getting married and moving to

Research into my latest Hong Kong Police Constable came to a dead end in 1908 when he suddenly seemed to disappear. No longer could he be found within Hong Kong. Searches of the 1911 UK census failed to show that he had returned to his homeland so where was he? Clues came with passenger lists which recorded voyages from Singapore back to the UK in the 1920s and 30s. Further research uncovered the fact that he had spent over 20 years in The Straits Settlements (Singapore, Malaya etc.) between 190
Following the leasing of the HK New Territories to Britain in 1898 the Hong Kong Police needed to expand. Two large intakes of recruits at this time came from the Royal Marines – 12 men in 1899 and 40 men in 1900. Political correctness was unknown at this time and Hong Kong Society loved to allot nicknames. These two groups therefore became known amongst their colleagues as “The Twelve Apostles” and “The Forty Thieves” – with absolutely no irreverence meant or insult taken.

Hello , My name is Bonnie Bolster.
I currently am taking the course Social Media Tools for the Wise Genealogist. It is the third class that I have taken. I have learned so much from all of the classes.
I have also attended some of the online Virtual Meetings and read logs for the ones that I could not attend.
I have been interested in Genealogy since the 1960’s but more active since 2000. Luckily my Grandparents and Great Grandparents and one Great Great Grandparent saved documents and lette
Tomorrow night at our Genealogical Society the topic is to do our own obituary ! I have sat down several times over the past week and this is alot harder than I thought it was going to be. This afternoon I remembered that when my father's cousin's wife passed away , you could just tell that whoever wrote the obit was into genealogy from what was included in
