Shirley will be bringing us up to date on her latest finds and knowledge about her home state.  She has given a talk in the past and

it is always helpful.  Her research is mostly New York for all her ancestors at this point in time, though one snuck away to Virginia.

She is a  Past President 

Mary Carlile Haines ancestry is documented in the article titled A Tale of Two Tradition:  The Huguenot Ancestry of a Quaker Family  printed in Plain Language, The Journal of the National Society Descendants of Early Quakers (printed about 1998) and written by Marilyn L. Winton Misch, MLS.  The article is six pages and includes her ancestors back to 1600. We had at the State Library Of Ohio an exceptional librarian who copied these issues and that is where I found the article.  It now belongs to

     I am working on making it work.    

     Maps are really critical keys in our research. I think I picked  up the information about it from Dick Eastman.

     But other things have happened and I did not get it posted right away.

     But it should be a lot of fun for most of you all.

Logsdon Family notes 
Family lore has it that William Logsdon at about age 50 in approximately 1702 selected a young Irish lass, Honora O'Flynn to be his wife. It is believed that Honora was kidnapped from Kerry County Ireland and brought aboard ship against her will to become a wife of an unmarried planter in Maryland. Later, a footnote in the "The Centenary of Catholicity in Kentucky" by the Hon. Ben, J. Webb stated: "Neither were the Durbins nor the Logsdons descended from stock that was known

A french cook was abroad a french ship on its way to Ireland. The ship landed and the cook settled in Co. Donegal, Ireland. There he met a native woman, married and had several children. They all settled around Letterkenny and had great families themselves. the supposed cook's name is Pierre Ambrose Frize.

In 1998 a Stockford gave me a comprehensive print out of my Family Tree going back to William Stockford 1715. It was kindly donated by Keith Hazel it included Duns Tew and Barton Stockfords.

Sadly I have mislaid the whole file. If any kind person has such a list I would appreciate a copy. I am willing to pay expences.

Puzzle Pieces, That is What They Are

Putting together new data into my program, my mind said, new pieces to the puzzle.

Yes, they are new pieces to the puzzle.  That is why we ask or are supposed to be asking each family member for help in resolving our lost data.

Each member of the family takes away a different thought besides their shared thoughts. Each person remembers activities differently in prospective to their selves instead of others.  It is like a cup of water, is it half empty or half fu

Out Fall Seminar turned out with a small crowd but great speakers. We learned a lot about Germany and Research and we learned a lot about Scottish/Irish Ancestors.  

Sis broke her neck the next day when she became ill and fell.  Spent month at hospital and is recovering nicely now, at our home.

We are going to try some new methods of Education for our society members. Jamboree's and Seminars are getting priced out of many's income bracket.

My Haines relatives claim that Richard Haines (1636-1682), who died aboard the shipAmity, had a brother who settled in Pennsylvania.  Peter S. Haines said that Richard of Aynhoe had a brother John Haynes (spelled differently).  Does anybody have information on Richard's brother John?  Thanks.   Richard D. Haines

I bought a book call The family tree Problem Solver it was telling me there's a different from search and research I still don't see much difference. I just want to know how to get more out researching my ancestors. I have been searching since 2004 and have a lot of people ,places and etc.,but my biggest problem I can't find the information I want. Being home bound now I would like help on some free sites because I just can't keep paying Ancestry.
