Alfred Casper was born December, 1884 to Charles H. Casper and Margaret LaFramboise. He married Alma Clara Trautmann in 1907 at Bismarck, ND, daughter of German born parents Peter Trautmann and Juliane 'Julia' Feick. They separated around 1914 at Alma's request because she had had a son (my grandfather b. 28 Feb. 1913) born outside of their marriage whom she was denied to leave with to WA state. He finally gave her a divorce around 1917 and she was then able to marry my grandfather's father (Leonardo Contessa (changed to Contes) in Pierce County, WA. She and Leonardo spent the rest of their lives together. She died on 28 Aug., 1940 in Nisqually, Pierce County, WA at the age of 50. Leo never re-married and died 07 Jan. 1961 Pierce County, WAMy Grandfather Benjamin was raised by Alfred in Bismarck, ND and married in 1943 to Marguerite Mae Casper, daughter of Alfred's brother James Arthur 'Art' Casper and Carrie McClearn. My grandmother recently passed away on 20 July, 2009.
