For some years now, I've sought information on my ancestors, Duncan & Mary KENNEDY (nee BUTTER ; likely the same Mary Butter, born 1787, who was the daughter of Archibald Butter & Peggy Cameron; Peggy was from Kilmallie it appears.), who were married in Keppoch, 6th February, 1808, with the marriage recorded in the Parish records of Kilmonivaig.  I have the extract from the wedding register and Duncan was a fisherman by profession. Their son JOHN KENNEDY, who gave his hometown as GLENCOE, ARGLYL

Science in Action on Google+ Longest Hang Out

Yes, science in action on Google+ Longest Hang Out.  We watched the start of Sea Monkeys and the

night before we discussed the little critters and the reason for liking them verses Triops.

Triops can be found here:

         TRIOPS VS WORMS - YouTube

Sea Monkeys can be found :

Sea-Monkeys®: The Official Site

We named 8 of them and are registering them. What a fun thing.  I think I am going to get some for some
     grandchildren.

Mills Family of Bruce Mines, Canada

I am looking for my dad's relatives in Canada.  He was James Ernest Mills 1927-1990; his parents were John Wesley Mills 1904-1945 & Elsie Harrison 1902-1989.  The family was from Bruce Mines-my Grandfather, John, worked on trains & the family immigrated to San Francisco CA where my dad was born.  I have located my Grandmother's youngest brother.  I would like to find cousins.

Sarah Elizabeth Harrison

I am looking for information on Sarah (Sadie) Elizabeth Harrison-born 1896 in England.  Her parents were George Wm. Harrison & Elizabeth Ann Smithson.  Sarah immigrated to Canada in 1907 with her father and his spouse, Elizabeth Mary Lingwood.  Sarah would have been about 11 years old.  Family members say that Sarah was never talked about-her mother and a sister were left in England.  Sarah had a son, Garnet Featherstone.  Would appreciate any info on Sarah and/or Garnet Featherstone or the Feat

Natural Disasters 101 - From September 2009

I am sitting here in Houston, waiting for Hurricane Ike to arrive. It’s 9AM and he’s not expected until around midnight but I’m nervous and not quite sure what to do. Arranging things around the house, most of it seems pointless. You never really know what’s going to happen until it happens. Will we flood? Will windows break from flying tree branches or patio furniture? Nobody can say for sure. But we are lucky and out of the way of such disaster that would require evacuating.

Two weeks ago, in t

This is the title of my new DNA Testing Guide. You can download it free from this page.

My DNA Testing Adviser web site  has a lot of useful information for genealogists, adoptees and others. Yet I felt an overview was needed to put the different DNA tests in perspective.

I describe the four major test types. Then I summarize their purposes, strengths and limitations in a unique table that you will not find anywhere else.

The guide is easy to read and understand. But it is not just for newbies. O
