Is Legacy responsible for incorrect data on the Internet?

For years I have been blaming The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, whose 'Ancestry' family trees are - or were - notoriously difficult to amend, and hence never were.

Preserving Your Family History

Most genealogy researchers will tell you that they are searching not only to find out about their history but also to keep their family’s history alive for future generations. So, now that we have those research documents, bits of scrap paper, newspaper clippings, photos, e-mails and other assorted bits of “research”, how do we preserve them for future generations? If you have Ancestors from the Isle of Axholme (north-west Lincolnshire in England), a very good site is Axholme Ancestry. There's more about it here.

The site actually covers a bit more than the Isle of Axholme itself, and includes south-east Yorkshire and north Lincolnshire as well -- Humberside, in fact. So if you have any ancestors or other relatives from there, have a look at the site.

Family Helping Family

I was recently contacted by a distant cousin who had seen the family work I've done at ancestry.com. Now a LOT of my family has been dispersed through early parental deaths, loss of records, etc. etc. So many family members don't know much about the ancestral roots, old family stories and connections, and so forth.
