This scanned photograph is of Richard Martin Hunter, born 18 Aug. 1857 in Daviess C., IN, the son of John Hunter III and Sarah Jane McCracken. On 5 Nov. 1885, he married Sarah Ellen Berkshire, daughter of George Berkshire.Shortly after they married, they moved to St. Louis, MO, and Richard joined the St. Louis City Police Department. He was serving as a desk sergeant at the time of his death on 30 Oct. 1915.Richard was my great-grandfather.
