After the majority of what was the biggest estate ever built for personal use in England burned down, HOLDENBY HOUSE, the estate of (Sir) Christopher HATTON, still stands with the surviving Kitchen Wing on a magnificent estate which sits directly next to ALTHORPE, the ancestral home of Diana SPENCER, Princess of Wales.
