Tillman Connection

We are direct descendants of Alex Tillman of Hinds, Mississippi; born 1830.  He and his brother, Russell, born 1823 were known as the Herring brothers, a name given to them by their owner Samuel Herring, born 1791.  They took the name Tillman after the Civil War.  This information can be confirmed on Ancestry.com.  Hopefully, someone will do some research and put all the puzzle peices together.

I got some exciting news! So out of desperation I sent off what I knew about my Great Grandpa Louis Boon and Great Grandma Mary Bauwens to the Dickinson County Michigan Rootsweb email group and GUESS WHAT?! I got an email from a group member that had info on the families INCLUDING where they lived in Belgium! This person lives in Belgium so he can do research in the area that mine lived in.
