I decided to spend this evening getting used to moving around Genealogy Wise. Adding discussions and photos is not as difficult as it may seem at first. The sudden explosion of new groups is amazing. There are so many familiar faces and groups such as Olive Tree Genealogy, Michigan Research, GeneaBloggers, Genetic Genealogy, FindaGrave and Ontario Canada Genealogy to name a few.It will probably take me days to look through the index and search all those groups that might be of interest. The great thing is that if one cannot find a group with a topic or geographic area pertinent to one's genealogy, one can form one and add their own special touch. There is a small learning curve for everyone but not an insurmountable one. Accepting or inviting friends, or other genealogists and group invitations is at the touch of your mouse. The only observation I have, is that the text invites on the right side of the page are not bold enough to see immediately at a glance. There seem to be many features to explore such as the chat, adding or viweing videos and there is a genealogy search link right from your page. ........... And what is the "More" for? Haven't checked that one yet.The only problem I have had since I joined is that I am not able to log on from another computer (my laptop) despite my "cookies" setting being set to accept. I use the same Ning ID and password. This has happened on every attempt. I wonder if anyone else is having the same difficulty??Since I decided to start a specific group for Puerto Rico besides my own personal genealogy, I better get hopping. There are 78 municipalities on the island for discussion areas! I'll never finish!I wish everyone well and hope they are enjoying getting familiar with this new venue as much as I am.
