A common complaint among genealogists is that someone has used theirinformation without permission. Genealogy is made up of two largecomponents; narratives and facts. Names, birth dates, death dates,relationships, and other "facts" are not subject to a claim ofcopyright. Very early on, there were lengthy discussions on this topic in the forum. I think one of the issues at the time involved the difference between US Copyright and whatever is used in other countries, namely the UK.
Even though I use a Copyright Notice on my website and blog, I am aware that people could download and keep the writings and or photos and post on their sites/blogs, therefore I just do not post anything I do not want to be shared.
And isn't genealogy, by it's nature, something to be shared? I have had many dealings with people who want me to share with them and they do not return the favor. They horde the information, for some reason. odd behavior in my book.
Anyway, thanks for your postings and I am sure there are many thinking about what you have shared. (Nice website too)
