Hi all,
Just a note to frequently check information on the various country archives because of so many updates and website rebuilds. There's no truth to the rumor that the US Archives is not available due to politics. We're not political here, but we also don't want folks concerned about rumors.
Please visit the variety of archives and check for major updates and rebuilds. That means pages you're used to finding on Irish Archives, Library and Archives Canada, and US Archives all have a variety of new pages and access points that may differ from your known links. As an example, to get to the main pages...
US Arhives is at https://Archives.gov
Irish Archives is at NationalArchives.ie
Library and Archives Canada Canada.ca/en/library-archives.html
National Archives UK is NationalArchives.gov.uk
If you don't find an archive, do a new search online to try again. Sometimes it's as simple as servers are resetting to the new links and sometimes they're down for maintenance once or twice a year. But no archive has gone offline for major countries other than to make necessary updates to their technology. Sometimes they'll post a notice that they're making changes, updating records, etc. But, they're not blocked for public access either.
We hope this helps you in your genealogy research.
