Jewish Cohanim with Debra Katz

31125609066?profile=RESIZE_584x

You are invited to join us for a Special Presentation with Debra Katz, the administrator of the Levant Project at FamilyTreeDNA.  She also works with the Avotaynu* DNA Project (*Hebrew for "our fathers").

Debra will be discussing the Y-DNA Origins and Migrations of Jewish "Cohanim,", i.e. the ancient priestly lineages. This highly informative presentation will focus on one particular lineage as an example of how the combination of Genetics and Genealogy can open a wide window into the origins of the Jewish People.

Debra Katz has been a Jewish genealogist for over 30 years and has been supplementing her research with genetic analyses since 2001. Debra’s professional work as a communications manager supplemented her research skills; her professional work as an early childhood educator in a Jewish school environment deepened her appreciation of Jewish heritage and traditions. In addition to her in-depth research on her paternal line, Debra has also identified and researched the paternal and maternal haplogroups of 18 of her 32 great-grandparents to get a wider picture of her total ancestry.

Please join us Monday, 13 April at 12:00 PM Eastern Time

Registration is not required.
